WARREN — State Fire Marshal investigators have ruled arson as the cause of this morning’s fire at a group home on Bonnie Brae Avenue.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with information leading to the identification of the person or people responsible. Anyone with information should call the fire marshal’s office at 1 (800) 589-2728.

All accidental causes have been ruled out, and investigators have evidence indicating the fire was intentionally set, according to a state fire marshal’s office press release.

Because the investigation continues, specific details cannot be released, investigators said.

Three of the home’s residents were seriously injured and transported to Akron Children’s Hospital Burn Center.

Patrolman Doug Hipple, who attempted to rescue the occupants, also was seriously injured and to the burn center. The status of all four is unknown at this time.
