Taking count of what’s wrong

Taking count of what’s wrong

EDITOR:

The demise of the American way of life is based on three facts. One, our government is helping to get rid of the middle class by helping big business in their efforts to destroy what made this country great. And two, we as a people are blind as to ourselves being the biggest part of the problem. The buy American movement is dead and buried, with no hope of a resurrection.

The steel industry is gone to other countries; the shoe industry is gone to other countries ... do you get the picture? We as buyers looked for the cheapest and didn’t/don’t care where it came/comes from. But even where we have a choice between American made and foreign made, many choose foreign. Just look in the driveways.

Well, when did all of this start? Remember when President Reagan fired the air traffic controllers and not one union backed them up when they were replaced with scabs? The unions at that time were strong to a degree. Now look at them. They have no power at all. Soon they will also be gone just like the middle class they were supposed to protect. Corruption in our government, in our businesses, in our unions and ourselves will bring us down.

No country on earth can beat us militarily, they don’t have to, we will do it to ourselves. Soon, very soon, we will be a country of the rich, richer and the poor.

The third and most important fact. We are a country of no morals, and that is our biggest problem, and we will pay the price.
