Fashion show, luncheon to aid Akron Children’s

BOARDMAN — “Baubles, Bangles and Blooms” fashion show and luncheon will take place at 11 a.m. May 8 in the Akron Children’s Hospital Community Room, on the first floor of Building C on the Beeghly Campus, 6505 Market St.

The event, which will include a raffle and prizes, is the first fundraising event of the newly formed “Kids’ Crew” of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, and will feature unique, affordable accessories, jewelry and handbags presented by the Glitter Girls.

The cost is $15 per person and space is limited. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling JoAnn Stock, Akron Children’s director of development, at (330) 746-9122.

Available at the event will be information about the Kids’ Crew, a committee of caring community volunteers who are interested in making a difference in the lives of children of the Mahoning Valley. Kids’ Crew members will assist with fundraising activities to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Members of the Kids’ Crew steering committee include Donna Hayat, chair, and Julie Costas, Lynn Kasper, Gayle Kelly, Ingrid Lund quist, Carol Sankovic and Lori Mowad.

The Glitter Girls showcase will continue with a Fashion Boutique, which will take place at the same location May 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge to visit the boutique. A portion of the proceeds from all sales at both events will benefit the hospital.
