NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police have charged a city man in the March 25 death of Thomas Nail, 19, of Moravia Street.
Charged is Joseph Clyde McCormick, 26. Police did not give his exact address.
State police found Nail dead on the ground at 4 a.m. with a stab wound to the neck in a wooded area near Big Run Creek Road and Bryson Hill Road in Shenango Township. The weapon used to kill Nail was a pocket knife, police said.
Police and Lawrence County District Attorney John Bongivengo said last month that they knew who killed Nail, and they were investigating whether the stabbing was in self-defense during the fight.
