Youngstown police investigating school break-in


YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for the group of individuals responsible for breaking into an East Side school and causing extensive damage early today.

According to police reports, a security guard for the Youngstown Academy of Excellence on Rigby Street called police after 1 a.m. when he heard noises in the school and saw five men running from the building.

Officers found the first floor hall covered in fire extinguisher fluid, the school office ransacked, electrical equipment damaged, ransacked classrooms and many broken windows. Entry to the building is believed to have been gained through an unlocked rear side window.
