Jamie Burns plans to be June bride of Daniel Zapko

BOARDMAN — Karen and Richard Zapko of Boardman announce the engagement of their son, Daniel Richard Zapko of Boardman, and Jamie Leigh Burns of Sylvania.

The couple have planned to exchange vows in a 2 p.m. open ceremony June 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania. A reception for invited guests will follow that evening at the Hilton Hotel on the campus of the University of Toledo.

The bride-elect, daughter of Carol and Eric Burns of Sylvania, graduated from Mercy College of Northwest Ohio with an associate degree in nursing and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing there.

The prospective groom graduated magna cum laude from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

He is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and will graduate in June with a medical doctor degree. He will begin a residency in internal medicine July 1 at Case Western Reserve University Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland.
