Woman ‘critical’ after 4-vehicle crash

BOARDMAN — One victim of an accident involving three cars and a pickup truck here remained in critical condition late Tuesday.

Adelheid Naples, 75, of Youngstown was taken by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, from the scene of the accident just after 3:30 p.m. Monday on Tippecanoe Road, troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lisbon Post said. Naples remained in the hospital in critical condition as of late Tuesday.

George L. Gregg, 60, of Austintown, was treated at St. Elizabeth after Naples’ Lincoln Town Car collided head-on with his Dodge Dakota at Tippecanoe Road and Linden Place.

The accident occurred after Naples, traveling north on Tippecanoe, failed to brake and rear-ended a Porsche that was signaling to turn left onto Linden, the patrol said. The Porsche was driven by 17-year-old Andrew Stanislav of Canfield.

After rear-ending Stanislav’s car, Naples’ vehicle veered left of center, striking Gregg’s southbound truck and rolling it over, state troopers said.

A Saab driven by Michael P. Mason, 43, of New Hampshire was traveling behind Gregg. Mason swerved out of the way and jumped the curb.

Neither Mason nor Stanislav was injured in the crash.

No one has been charged, but troopers said they plan to speak with Naples as soon as she is able.
