Talk session for women set at Cornersburg church

YOUNGSTOWN — Solid Rock Interdenominational Church, 3507 Canfield Road, Cornersburg, will host a “Let’s Talk About It” girls talk session for women 18 and older at 7 p.m. Friday. The meeting will be facilitated by Pastor Gwen Alexander and other guest ministers and speakers. Fellowship, food and much more will be featured. The donation is $10.

Camp Fitch schedules spring open houses

NORTH SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — YMCA’s Camp Fitch is having open houses from 1-4 p.m. Sunday and May 17.

Visitors can enjoy wagon tours, the chance to try some traditional camp activities, toast marshmallows and learn more about Camp Fitch.

The camp is just west of Erie, Pa., with a mile of pristine Lake Erie shoreline, 450 acres of forests, streams and fields. Summer camp consists of seven one-week sessions. Campers can sign up for one, two or all seven weeks. The summer season ends with two one-week sessions of family camping.

TV personality to speak at women’s conference

NEW CASTLE — Jennifer Antkowiak, award-winning TV news anchor, reporter and talk show host on KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh, will be the guest speaker at the Lawrence County Women’s Conference, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at New Castle Area High School, 300 E. Lincoln Ave. The topic of her presentation will be Take Care Tips.

Her book, “Take Care Tips,” offers 101 10-minute tips on how to care for yourself while you’re caring for others.

Sessions at the conference will include information, budgeting, living green and dressing to look your best. Jameson Hospital will provide health screenings and several local businesses are donating services for a spa room,
