Suspect arrested in drive-by that killed 11-year-old

WARREN — Police arrested a suspect on the same day the second victim died in a drive-by shooting that happened on Wick Street South East on April 13.

Warren police arrested 22-year-old Marcus Yager of Warren on Tuesday. He is charged with two counts of murder and was scheduled to appear in court this morning. Police said it’s possible more arrests could be made.

The shooting claimed the life of 11-year-old Lloyd McCoy Jr., who was visiting his young relative and sitting on the living room couch when dozens of bullets ripped through the home.

McCoy, who lived across the street from the home at 2290 Wick St., died at 7:08 a.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, the Mahoning County coroner’s office said.
