Woman injured in South Side shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — An ongoing family feud between two households on Cleveland Street on the city’s South Side resulted in a woman being shot by her 14-year-old male cousin around 6 p.m. Monday, police said.

The woman was grazed in the stomach by a bullet and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police would not release the woman’s name and do not know if she is still admitted.

The shooting didn’t stop after the 6 p.m. incident, however.

At 1 a.m. today, about 10 shots were fired at the one house on the 100 block of Cleveland Street and then more shots were fired at 4:30 a.m, police said.

The shots at 4:30 a.m. came from an AK-47, police said. No one was in the house when it was fired upon upward of 50 times.

“The house was just riddled with bullets,” said Detective Sgt. Ron Rodway.

Police have made no arrests, but are looking for the 14-year-old boy and his mother.
