Mahoning Valley unemployment rates remain high

Unemployment rates in the Mahoning Valley last month remained roughly double what they were a year earlier.

Here are the March rates released today by the state: Mahoning County, 12.7 percent, up from 6.8 percent in March 2008; Trumbull County, 14.2 percent, up from 7 percent in March 2008; and Columbiana County, 12.9 percent, up from 6.8 percent in March 2008.

The jobless rate for all of Ohio in March was 10.1 percent, compared with 6.2 percent in the same month last year.
