Man charged with attempted arson of Boardman High School

BOARDMAN — A West Boulevard man has been charged with arson in an attempt earlier this month to set fire to the high school.

Police arrested Larry Taylor, 30, Monday morning in the psychiatric ward of Forum Health Northside Medical Center and taken to the Mahoning County Jail on $9,250 bond.

Wood, plastic and a propane tank were used in the failed April 4 attempt to burn the school.

Taylor also was charged with two additional arson counts, accused of setting fire to a shed on Becky Court and a mailbox on Squirrel Hill Drive. Both of those fires occurred March 13.
