BINGO, CARD PARTIES

• St. James Altar and Rosary Society will have its 53rd Annual Spring Card Party and Bingo at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the St. James School Auditorium, 2016 Arbor St. S.E., Warren. There will be raffles, door prizes, table prizes and lunch. The donation is $5, and tickets will be available at the door.

• Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 618 Ohio Ave., McDonald, will have a bingo and card party at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church hall. Bingo, cards, door prizes, raffles and refreshments will be included in the activities. Tickets are $5 and are available from Altar and Rosary Society members or at the door. Proceeds will be used for altar supplies.

• Warren Republican Women’s Club will have its annual card party from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church, Atlantic Street, Warren. Tickets cost $6, and may be purchased at the door or by calling (330) 856-6057. Lunch will be served, and many door prizes will be given. Take a board game if you don’t play cards.

FLEA MARKETS

• Camelot Lane’s Grand Prix Scholarship Parents will sponsor a flea market and craft sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Camelot Lanes, 628 Boardman-Canfield Road. Proceeds will provide college scholarships for students who bowl.

• Salem Memorial Building Association will have an indoor flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16 at the gymnasium. Vendors are welcome and can rent an 8-foot table with chairs for $10. Setup time will be from 6 to 8 a.m. All items are subject to approval. To reserve a space, mail a check, payable to the association, to 785 E. State St., Salem, OH 44460. Food will be available. NIGHTS AT THE RACES

• Washingtonville VFW Post 5532, 575 S. Countyline Road, will sponsor a Night at the Races at 7 p.m. May 2. Patrons can buy a horse for $25. Admission with a horse is $5. For more information or to purchase a horse, call (330) 482-0499. Proceeds will benefit Lora Kyser, who has lymphoma and is awaiting a bone-marrow transplant in Dallas.

SALES

• Columbiana First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., will have a Trash & Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, which is bag day: $2 a bag or three bags for $5. On Thursday and Friday there will be a bake sale table. Hot meatball subs and chili will be available to eat in or take out all three days. Items for sale include kitchenware, home decor, holiday decorations, linens and bedding and more. The sale is sponsored by the Women’s Association. For more information, call (330) 482-2666.

South Range Road, North Lima, will have a rummage sale on the following dates; May 7 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (bake sale), May 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (half-price day) and May 9 from 9 a.m. to noon ($1-a-bag day). • T.N.R. of Warren will sponsor a huge yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 6 at the parking lot of Crest Lanes, 3390 Youngstown Road S.E., Warren. Cash will be accepted and all sales will be final. Vendors can rent a table for $10 by calling (330) 719-5569. Setup will be the morning of the sale. Available will be household items, new and used items, books, clothes, tools, pictures and a wide variety of miscellaneous items. There will also be a bake sale, and food and beverages will be available.

• Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, will have its 53rd annual sale of used books and music in all categories. Sale hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

• Zion Hill Church, 14550 New Buffalo Road, Columbiana, will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

SPECIAL EVENTS

• First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will be the setting for a cooking class to be sponsored by the Church Growth and Fellowship Committee from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 29. The class will be taught by Valerie Meyers and will include a spring brunch menu of honey-vanilla fresh fruit salad, baked french toast casserole with cinnamon syrup, apple and sausage patties, and breakfast frittata. Those attending are asked to take two 9x13 pans, a spatula, two small plastic bowls with lids, and $5 for ingredients. • Sam Pitzulo Homes and Freedom Title Agency will sponsor a free home building seminar at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Church Parish Center, 300 N. Broad St., Canfield. Discussed will be the selection of a lot, plans, builder and financing. Seating is limited. To attend, call (330) 533-2137.

• Youngstown Optimist Club will have a wine tasting from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Saxon Club Ballroom, 710 S. Meridian Road. There will be at least 24 wines to taste, hors d’oeuvres, door prizes and a Chinese auction. Music for listening or dancing will be provided by a disc jockey. The donation will be $30.
