Campbell 6, Chaney 1

YOUNGSTOWN — Josh Gore hit a two-run double in the second inning for the Red Devils (4-2). Andrew Asthloth had two hits and scored one run. Kevin Boris had the RBI for the Cowboys (2-7).

Niles 10-18, Jackson-Milton 1-3

NILES — Niles McKinley High coasted to a pair of victories over Jackson-Milton. In the opener, Mike Watson pitched the first five innings striking out seven and allowing just two hits. Nick Mientkiewicz, Austin Lykins and Nick Charnas all had two hits for the Dragons. In the second game, the Red Dragons scored eight times in the third inning to break open the game, which lasted just five innings. Watson and Robert Marino each had two hits, while Mike Livi drove in three runs.

Mooney 18, Fitch 1

STRUTHERS — Boo Vazquez cracked out three hits including a pair of triples and Cardinal Mooney (5-0) coasted to a five-inning win over Fitch (5-2). Anthony Franceschelli had three hits and Mike Plesto four for the Cardinals. Jason Bagoli had a double for the Falcons.

Salem 9-6, South Range 8-12

SALEM — Randy Wyand had two doubles and drove in two runs in the opener for Salem, while Kenny Saltsman pitched a complete game scattering nine hits. South Range came back behind in the second game behind the pitching of Mike Rohan, while Gerrad Rohan led the way with four hits and two RBIs.

Columbiana 11, Western Reserve 4

COLUMBIANA — Josh Harold had four hits including a double and a home run while Travis Denmeade had three hits and drove in three runs for the Clippers. Rob Barbato and Hank Schlveter combined to pitch a three hitter as the Clippers improved to 8-3.

Springfield 8-15, Lisbon 4-0

NEW MIDDLETOWN — In the opener, Nick Russell had three hits while Jason Horn and Aaron Yoder had two apiece. Joey Ohlis doubled. For Lisbon, Eric Hiscox doubled. In the second game, Russell tossed a two-hitter while Todd Kibby tripled and doubled. Frank Sferra doubled for the Tigers (9-2, 6-2 Inter Tri-County League Tier One).

Mineral Ridge 6-5, Lowellville 4-8

STRUTHERS — Kyule Borton struckout 10 and also had two hits including a double as Mineral Ridge beat Lowellville in the opener. The Rockets came back and pounded out 12 hits to beat the Rams in the second game.

Chaney 10, Warren JFK 8

NILES — Dustin Guyer scattered eight hits and struck out nine in pitching a complete game win for the Cowboys Friday night at Eastwood Field. Scott Renda, Kevin Boris, Ed Rovnak and Andrew Weiser all had two hits for the Cowboys. Jim Coates had two hits for the Eagles.
