ASSOCIATIONS

• Greenford Ruritan Club will meet April 27 at Greenford Lutheran Church.

• K. of C. Ladies Auxiliary of Girard will have a catered mother and family banquet at 6:30 p.m. May 9 at the hall. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 4 to 12. • McDonald Parents of Performing Arts will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the McDonald post office building.

• Warren Women’s Connection will have a “Fair-ly Optimistic” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road NE. The cost is $12. Featured will be a program on fair crafts by Dona Hewitt and a talk on “The Eternal Optimist” by Susie Jones. Renee Koehrsen will sing. • Youngstown South Christian Women’s Club will have a “Merry Month of May” luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. May 14 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road. The program will feature Diana Hively of Premier Designs Jewelry, music by Roberta Dorsey, and a talk on “The Eternal Optimist” by Susie Jones of Huntington, W.Va. LEAGUES

POLITICAL GROUPS

• Mahoning County Federated Democratic Women will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Guests are welcome.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

• Court Bishop James McFadden 1650, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Sunrise Assisted Living, 335 McKinley Way West, Poland. • D.A.R.E., a social group for divorced, widowed or separated people, has planned the following events: Wednesday, walking at Mill Creek Park from Dr. Shah’s parking lot at 6 p.m.; Thursday, meeting at Disciples Christian Church at 7:30; and April 25, winter picnic at Elton Beard Cabin in Boardman Park at 6. SUPPORT GROUPS

• Mended Hearts support group for heart survivors and their families will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Azalea Room at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman Campus. An optional dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. in the Terrace Cafe. Guest speaker will be Shirley A. Lisk on the humorous topic, “Jest For The Health of It.” The public is welcome.
