Deadlines must be met

EDITOR:

Congressman Ryan is too late for today’s session and too early for tomorrow. This is in response to his being late with his filing for earmarks for the residents of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. Why is that the other local congressmen got their requests done and Ryan could not? This is another slap in the face for the residents of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. We all have deadlines to honor and we surely expect our elected officials to abide by the same rules.

With the economic hardship that has plagued this area for the past 30 years, loss jobs, loss businesses, loss population, loss home values, we cannot not afford to miss any opportunity to gain any leverage for the citizens of the valley.

Maybe Congressman Ryan needs to concentrate on the job at hand rather than his future aspirations.LANCE SMITH
