Senior is right on target

ON TARGET: Kathy Bowman of Austintown, a grandmother of six, represented Ohio in the Illinois Senior Olympics, where she won a Gold Medal in her category of archery, compound bare bow, and set a state record. She is now eligible to represent Ohio in the National Senior Olympics Aug. 1-15 on the campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. To help cover the expenses involved in participating in the Olympics, a fundraiser will take place for Bowman from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Cold Stone Creamery, 5549 Mahoning Ave. Featured at the event will be area personalities as Celebrity Scoopers, who will be on hand to encourage people of all ages to be active in sports, and there will be a performance by the sixth-grade choir from Austintown Middle School.
