A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

GIRARD

April 12

Criminal mischief: Eggs were tossed at a man’s residence in the 700 block of East Liberty Street.

April 13

Assault: A Girard man told police another man exited his car and struck the accuser on the right side of his neck as he walked on Main Street.

Theft: A Plymouth Avenue woman accused her husband of stealing a firearm from her closet.

Breaking and entering: Someone forcibly entered a vacant residence in the 600 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road via a rear door, though nothing of value appeared to have been taken.

Burglary: A woman returned to her North Avenue home and discovered a rear door was unlocked. Stolen were three gold rings and other jewelry, and eight bottles of medications.

April 14

Recovered property: A Church Hill Road woman took possession of a $900 mountain bike after having reported it stolen.

Aggravated menacing: A man in the 500 block of Church Hill Road reported someone called threatening to slice his throat and burn his property.

Auto theft: A Girard man faced charges of receiving stolen property, failure to comply with police and possession of drug-abuse instruments after officers got a report of a black Jaguar that had been stolen in Howland Township. The driver led police on a foot pursuit and had a hypodermic needle, a report said.

Threats: A Church Hill Road woman said her former boyfriend threatened to steal her vehicle and burn down her home.

HUBBARD

April 10

Arrest: A warrant was issued for a township man accused of failing to appear for arraignment on a charge of passing a bad check.

Assault: A woman reported her 13-year-old son had been assaulted in the 50 block of Stoneybrook Drive.

Drugs: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hillcrest Avenue man accused of failing to appear for trial on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments.

April 11

Criminal mischief: An Elmwood Drive woman said a boy damaged her vehicle’s finish.

Theft: A global positioning system device was missing from a vehicle in the 300 block of North Main Street.

Theft: Two purses were taken from a car in the 800 block of North Main Street.

April 13

Damage: A woman reported someone had struck and damaged a building in the 100 block of North Main Street.

Theft: A man in the 100 block of Church Street discovered loose change missing from his car.

April 14

Breaking and entering: A Fairchild Drive woman’s car was broken into while she was at a North Main Street eatery.

LIBERTY

April 10

Arrest: Police booked a Youngstown man, 18, on a charge of failure to comply with police as well as two other charges after investigating an unwanted person near Frederick Street and saying the man led authorities on a vehicular pursuit.

Theft: A manager at Radio Shack, 3551 Belmont Ave., discovered two hand-held scanners, a DVD player and two antennas missing.

Theft: A Scott Lane man reported the theft of a $6,000 all-terrain vehicle.

Theft: A woman left a Unimart station, 2703 Belmont Ave., without paying for $24.65 worth of gasoline.

April 11

Theft: A Townsend Avenue woman accused a 22-year-old man of taking her credit/debit card, cell phone and 42-inch TV, for a loss of $947.

Theft: A Chrysann Drive man reported the theft of a bottle of prescription medications and $110 from a bedroom.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Fifth Avenue led to two arrests, including a Youngstown woman, 26, wanted on a warrant from Mahoning County charging her with a probation violation. The original charge was petty larceny.

April 13

Theft: A Hubbard man, 68, was accused of failing to pay for gasoline at Conroy’s Express, 4446 Logan Way. The man argued he had given $5 to a clerk who failed to stop the pump and that he shouldn’t have to pay the difference, a report said.

Burglary: Someone entered a home in the 10 block of Scott Lane, then took a 32-inch TV, a Sony PlayStation 3 game console and a DVD.

Domestic violence: Police charged a township man, 53, after a woman alleged her husband had punched her several times in the head during an argument, then punched their daughter in the left eye. Authorities found the daughter holding an ice pack over her swollen eye, a report showed.

Criminal damaging: Someone tossed eggs and struck a vehicle in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.

April 14

Possible assault: A Cortland woman filed a report alleging her former husband threw the woman’s 8-year-old daughter to the ground at the man’s township residence. The girl was not injured, however.

Theft: A Frederick Street man told police he never received a United Parcel Service package containing $65 worth of clothing that had been delivered to his residence.

Theft: A Madison Road man discovered a $375, 14-inch silver necklace had been removed from his car.

Arrest: Officers picked up a 32-year-old Youngstown man walking on Oakland Avenue who was accused of failing to appear in court.
