TEA parties in Youngstown, Warren protest government spending

Today the Youngstown State University College Republicans, in conjunction with others throughout the nation, will be participating in a Tax Day TEA Party protest on Federal Plaza at 4 p.m.

There’s also a party at Courthouse Square in Warren, 4:15 to 6:15 p.m.

Organizers say the purpose of this TEA party “is to protest the absurdly increasing amount of government spending that is going on both in Washington D.C. and Columbus. The increased fees and proposed taxes are breaking the backs of American citizens and making it increasingly difficult for the everyday citizen to survive on their own.”

Speakers who will be on hand for the event on Federal Plaza West in front of the First Federal Bank in Youngstown include Jim Shaw, president of the YSU College Republicans, Bill Johnson, Dr. Donald K. Allen, and others to be announced.
