Cash advance store robbed at gunpoint

AUSTINTOWN — An armed man entered a cash advance store and got away with an undetermined amount of money.

Just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the man walked into Advance America, 4429 Mahoning Ave., and threatened a store employee, township police report.

Police said he pointed a handgun at the employee while demanding cash. The employee complied, and the suspect left the store with the cash. He fled in a dark burgundy or brown vehicle with 30-day temporary tags.

No one was injured, and the robbery remains under investigation.
