YOUNGSTOWN — The three Youngstown men arrested after a burglary at a house on East Avondale Avenue faced arraignment Tuesday in municipal court.
Lucky Mitchell, 26, and James Sunderman, 23, both of Youngstown, are charged with burglary after being apprehended Sunday.
Police responded to a report of the burglary in progress and found the men in a driveway at a house nearby.
After police called for backup and dogs, several people, including a woman and a child, came out of the house, the police report said.
When police went inside, they found several television sets, DVD players, a computer and several handguns. They found a flat-screen TV in the back seat of a car.
Mitchell’s record has a number of previous charges including drug abuse, failure to appear in court, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and more. The majority of previous charges dealt with theft.
Mitchell’s bond was set at $150,000.
Sunderman’ has been charged in drug cases, carrying a concealed weapon and arson.
Sunderman’s bond was set at $100,000.
Both Mitchell and Sunderman are to have no contact with the residence on East Avondale Avenue where the theft occurred and will be placed on electronically monitored house-arrest if bond is posted.
The youngest of the three men arrested, 19-year-old Derrick Smith of Youngstown, is charged with possession of a dangerous ordnance.
Smith has no evidence of a previous criminal record, but told police that one of the handguns found the day of the burglary was his.
Smith’s bond was set at $75,000, and he is also not allowed to have contact with the East Avondale Avenue house where the theft occurred. He will be placed on house arrest.
