Valley group providing bus trip to health-care reform rally in Cleveland


YOUNGSTOWN — Anyone interested in health-care reform is encouraged to attend a rally at 10:15 a.m. Friday at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights.

The Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative, in partnership with 30 other statewide groups, is hosting an appearance of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, for the rally.

Fifty community leaders and residents from the Valley plan to participate in the event that 400 people are expected to attend.

The MVOC is a broad-based community organizing initiative that focuses on uniting groups throughout the community to increase the quality of life in urban neighborhoods in the Valley.

The group will provide free transportation to interested parties on a first-come, first-serve basis. The bus to Cleveland will leave at 8:15 a.m. from the MVOC office, 22 W. Wood St.
