Mahoning County residents can recycle household appliances

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County residents wanting to recycle household appliances can do so from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 25 at Youngstown Iron and Metal, 100 Division St.

The city’s litter control and recycling division, handling the recycling drive, is accepting refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers, stoves, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water softeners, microwaves, small appliance and scrap metal.

After chlorofluorocarbons and other chemicals are removed, if that’s needed, Youngstown Iron and Metal will crush the items and the metal recycled.

For more information, call Jennifer Jones at the city’s litter control and recycling division at (330) 744-7526.
