Laid-off workers can access help network at Wednesday event
YOUNGSTOWN —“Tossing a Lifeline to Laid- off Workers” is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Chevrolet Centre.
The event is free and open to both union and non-union workers.
The United Autoworkers union has recruited more than 100 agencies that will be represented to help Valley residents access local food and clothing pantries, HUD certified counselors to help stop foreclosures, and numerous colleges for career counseling.
A limited number of breakout rooms will be available for counseling. UAW Local 1112 and Trumbull, Mahoning annd Columbiana County One Stops are sponsoring the event. A similar event was held in Warren in February.
