Fitch’s Tolich, Shiley lead way to East Palestine track victory

EAST PALESTINE — Fitch sophomore Ali Tolich won the shot put and discus events while Jen Shiley won the 400 to lead the Falcons to a narrow team victory over Massillon Perry in the East Palestine Invitational on Saturday.

Tolich was named Field MVP, while Salem senior Lauren Shivers was Running MVP after winning the 800 and 1600 and helping the Quakers place second in the 4x800 relay.

Chaney’s Alyssa Sykes won the 100 hurdles and long jump.

Other individual winners included East’s Jacaia Stoffer (100). Poland’s Anna Pompeo (3200) and LaBrae’s Emily Potter (high jump).

Mooney won the 4x200 relay, Fitch won the 4x400 and Poland won the 4x800.
