His Music Connection
GIRARD — His Music Connection will present Dove Award-winning contemporary Christian artist Mitch McVicker in concert April 24 at the former Wellman Theater at 29 W. Liberty St.
The evening will also feature a performance by singer/songwriter Jenah Ross.
McVicker earned a Dove Award in 1999 for the song “My Deliverer is Coming,” which he co-wrote with contemporary Christian artist Rich Mullins, composer of the “Awesome God.”
On Sept. 19, 2007, Mullins and McVicker were en route to a concert when the vehicle they were traveling in overturned. Mullins was killed.
McVicker was in a coma for several weeks and went into extensive recovery for two years. Ross is working on her fifth CD under the direction of John Sferra of Glass Harp.

Joint service
YOUNGSTOWN — Word in Action Ministry, Faith Temple Baptist Church and Mount Moriah Fire Baptized Holiness Church, all of Campbell, and Idlewood Church of God and Manifested Promises the Living Word Church will host a joint Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. at Stambaugh Auditorium ballroom. The Rev. William R. Burney Jr., pastor of Word of Action, will speak along with church pastors.
Program to focus on ‘end-of-life’ decisions
AUSTINTOWN — A program, “End-of-Life Decisions,” is planned from 7 to 9 p.m. April 18 at Austintown Baptist Church, 1180 S. Raccoon Road.
Participants will be Pastor Chuck Cole of Austintown Baptist; Pastor Barry Knaub of Central Niles Baptist Church; Dr. Medford Mashburn of Hospice, Mary Kirila and Wally Sinn of Lane Funeral Homes; and attorney Charlene Burke.
The program and participants will address end-of-life issues.

About intention
VILLA MARIA, Pa. — Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will offer a workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 25 on “The Power of Intention” at Villa Maria Community Center.
Elaine Wellinger, a sister of the Humility of Mary, will facilitate this program. She has a master of arts degree in pastoral counseling and a certificate in theological studies. This program will instruct on how to set clear, positive intention for actions and prayer that is essential to recognizing their effects. This seminar will teach a simple method of intention and how to use it daily.

Society marks 25th
WARREN — The Louise Currie Missionary Society of Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1137 Main Ave. S.W., will celebrate 25 years of its “Burgundy and Pink Tea” with a banquet. Flame Fellowship
BOARDMAN — Greater Youngstown Chapter of Flame Fellowship, an interdenominational ministry, will meet April 20 at the Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Park. Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the ministry at 7.
Guest speaker will be Beth Ann Panizales, who will be sharing her testimony of dealing with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and being healed.
Spiritual revival
CAMPBELL — Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 66 10th St., will conduct a revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday with the Rev. Michael H. Harrison, pastor of Union Baptist Church, Youngstown, as speaker.
He also is president of the Ohio Baptist State Convention. Music will be provided by area choirs.

Truckers’ ministry
WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Truckers 4 Jesus ministry will show Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” film during the Easter Sunday morning service in the theater at the Petro Truck Stop on Salt Springs Road.
Worship will begin at 8:30 a.m. with music by Kelly Williams and Jenah Ross. The movie will start at 9:30; admission is free and refreshments will be provided.
Truckers 4 Jesus is a ministry designed to provide truck drivers an opportunity to worship and fellowship while they are on the road.
Services are at 9 a.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. Thursdays in the theater at Petro Truck Stop.

Crossing Paths
HUBBARD — Crossing Paths, a local television ministry founded by Donald G. Reed Sr., will have its annual spring banquet at 6:30 p.m. April 24 at the Brentford House, 737 Myron St.
Guest speaker will be Michael Clancy from Nashville, Tenn., who has worked as a photojournalist in the middle Tennessee area for 19 years. In 1999, Clancy took a photograph of a tiny hand of an unborn child reaching from his mother’s womb during fetal surgery. Music will be provided by Bonnie Baughman.

Healing drum circle
VILLA MARIA, Pa. — Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will conduct a healing drum circle from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Facilitator Jason Lynn has been drumming for more than 20 years. He studies and practices mystical, spiritual and therapeutic powers of rhythm. He teaches both conventional and metaphysical drumming. There is no registration or fee required; an offering of $7 will be accepted. Participants may bring their own drums or use ones provided.

VIENNA — Michael Voris, president of St. Michael’s Media and host of the TV program, “One True Faith,” will speak April 18 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scovill Drive. His topic will be “The Death of a People, Nation and Civilization: Worshipping the Demons of Infant Sacrifice.”
