Alumni association plans scholarship event at center

CAMPBELL — Campbell Memorial High School Alumni Association has scheduled its third annual spring dinner for April 25 at Archangel Michael Community Center, 401 12th St., beginning with a social at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6.

The dinner is a major fundraiser for the Alumni Association, which has awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships to Memorial High School graduates the past two years.

Students selected to receive scholarships will be guests, and will receive certificates with a notification of which scholarship they will receive. Jim Loboy, local broadcaster, will be master of ceremonies.

Tickets are $40 and may be purchased from any association member of by calling the high school secretary at (330) 799—1515.

Scholarships available to the students and scholarship sponsors are as follows:

•Arfaras Post—Graduate Scholarship — Arfaras family, $1,000.

•Ray Bragalone Memorial Scholarship — Family and friends of Ray Bragalone (1950), $1,000, annual.

•George Cebula Physics Award — Cebula family, $200, annual.

•Class of 1958 Scholarship for Academic Excellence — Class of 1958, $1,000, annual.

•Class of 2003 Post—Graduate Scholarship — Tula (Arfaras) O’Neal, $1,000, one time.

•Stephen and Sophie (Winsen) Duritza Memorial Scholarship — John Kovach (1958), $250, annual.

• Josephine (Grohovsky) Parise Memorial Music Scholarship — Grohovsky family, $500, annual.

•John and Anna (Sudzina) Kovach Memorial Scholarship — Kovach family, $250, annual.

•John and Matilda (Duritza) Kovach Memorial Scholarship — Kovach family, $500, annual.
