Howland takes top honors in state speech competition


YOUNGSTOWN — The Howland High School speech team recently took top honors in the Ohio High School Speech League State Championship Tournament at Mason (Ohio) High School.

Howland placed first in the Team Sweepstakes category, followed closely by a number of other local teams. Cardinal Money took second, Austintown Fitch took fourth, Canfield took fifth and Ursuline placed ninth overall.

More than 70 teams from across the state competed.
