Visiting professor to speak at symposium
YOUNGSTOWN — David Kozak, professor of public policy and director of Leadership Erie at Gannon University, will speak Tuesday at Youngstown State University as part of the business school’s Williamson Symposium Series.
At 8 a.m. in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center, he will present “The Obama Presidency and the State of American Politics: Implications for Business.” Reservations must be made for the breakfast presentation. Order of Iowa nuns sues bank over lost investment
NEW YORK — An order of Iowa nuns has sued a State Street Corp. bank for putting their money in risky subprime mortgages instead of more conservative investments.
The Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, based in Dubuque, Iowa, filed the lawsuit Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
They said they have lost more than $1 million.
The lawsuit asked for unspecified damages from State Street Bank and Trust Co. and a subsidiary, State Street Global Advisors Inc.
