Nelson Ledges park plans Hookah weekend
GARRETTSVILLE — Nelson Ledges Quarry Park will kick off the summer concert season April 24-26 with Blossom Blast, the 10th annual Spring Hookah Weekend, featuring two nights with Ekoostik Hookah.
The park is a privately owned, 250-acre campground and concert facility that has facilities for camping, swimming, hiking and basketball, as well as kids’ playgrounds.
Blossom Blast also will feature The Macpods of Ann Arbor, Mich., on Friday evening, and The Bridge, of Baltimore, on Saturday evening.
Regional acts, including Jones For Revival, Papadosio, The Werks, Interstellar Galactic Overdrive, Jimkata, Wolfcookies, Cherylann Hawk, Zach Deputy, The Red Hot Trio and Uncle Eddie & Robin, will round out the schedule.
Admission is $50 for Friday through Sunday, or $40 for Saturday through Sunday. There is no extra charge for camping.

Canfield concert band to present spring concert
CANFIELD — The Canfield Community Concert Band will present a spring concert at 3 p.m. April 19 in the Canfield High School Auditorium, 100 Cardinal Drive. Canned goods and cash donations will be accepted to benefit Operation Blessing.
The concert will feature Beth Roach performing the Concerto for Horn No. 1 in E-Flat Major by Richard Strauss. A saxophone quartet will perform Scherzo for Saxophone Quartet by Hans Mielenz, and the trombone section will perform Frolic for Trombones by Reginald Heath. Other selections from the band will include Fanfare and Jubliation by Roland Barrett, Die Fledermaus Overture by Johann Strauss, Jr., and What’s Up at the Symphony? (Bugs Bunny’s Greatest Hits), arranged by Jerry Brubaker.
The Canfield Community Concert Band has 55 performers from Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Quarter Horse group plans show at fairgrounds
CANFIELD — The Northern Ohio Quarter Horse Association show will take place April 25 and 26 at Canfield Fairgrounds.
American Quarter Horse shows test horses’ abilities in dozens of various classes and feature jumping, reining, barrel racing, cutting, roping and pole bending events. Additionally, there are halter classes that judge American Quarter Horses based on balance, muscling and breed characteristics.
