jMike Malone escaped the mean streets of Marion, Ohio, by getting into comedy. He’s toured the country, and earlier this year released his second album, “Random Thoughts.” Malone has played at the Funny Farm, 5583 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles, before, but when he returns this weekend, it’ll be as a headliner — a first. Inspirational comedian Jason Laipply, who is best known for his “Evolution of Dance” act (seen by just about everybody in the world on YouTube), will be the guest performer at Trumbull County’s Got Talent. The teen talent show starts at 6 p.m. at the YWCA, 375 N. Park Ave., Warren. It’s free.k
“The Earth Trembled” is the Passion play produced every Easter season since 1992 by Top Hat Productions. Vindicator theater critic Milan Paurich says it “conveys the same ‘let’s put on a show’ energy and enthusiasm of Top Hat’s more secular productions.” The show will be staged at Fairview Arts and Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
