HUBBARD
April 3
Arrest: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hubbard man accused of violating a protection order.
Fraud: A Timber Lake Drive woman contacted her bank after someone had called asking to come over to discuss her Individual Retirement Account. The bank told the woman that it would not send a person to her residence for that purpose, a report showed.
Theft: A Jacobs Road woman reported a theft from her rental property.
April 4
Arrest: A traffic stop in the 300 block of West Liberty Street led to the arrest of a Lewis-Seifert Road woman on a warrant charging her with failing to appear at a violation-of-probation hearing.
Fraud: A Viola Avenue woman reported being the victim of an Internet scam.
April 6
Fraud: A West Liberty Street woman reported a case related to her credit card.
Menacing: A teacher at Reed Middle School, 150 Hall Ave., reported receiving a threat from a pupil’s parent.
April 7
Fraud: A Jerry Drive woman was advised to contact the Ohio attorney general’s office after telling police of a suspicious letter she had received stating she was privy to part of the money from an Australian lottery. The author wanted the woman to fill out and send in forms to claim her portion, a report said.
LIBERTY
April 2
Arrest: A city man, 27, was booked at the Mahoning County Jail on a warrant from Liberty.
Menacing: A Scott Lane woman reported getting three calls from a man threatening to harm her.
April 4
Pursuit: A 19-year-old Youngstown man was accused of leading police on a vehicular pursuit after initially pulling over near Belmont Avenue, then fleeing. The chase was later called off.
Domestic violence: A charge was pending against an Anderson-Morris Road man after his wife alleged he wedged her between two doors, then grabbed and squeezed her face.
April 6
Bad checks: A 60-year-old Youngstown man was thought to have passed two such checks totaling $190 at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.
Menacing: A Logan Way woman told officers her husband made several harassing calls and threatened to kill their daughter.
April 7
Arrest: Youngstown police handed a city man, 27, to Liberty authorities. He was wanted on a warrant from the township.
Arrest: Officers booked a 38-year-old Austintown man at the Mahoning County Jail who was wanted on a warrant from the township charging him with failing to appear in court.
Theft: A man discovered a $3,000 air-conditioning unit had been removed from a medical office in the 500 block of Gypsy Lane.
Assault: An investigator sought to file a report regarding an assault at Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road. A 16-year-old boy alleged that during a rough-housing situation, a staff member placed him in a choke hold, causing the teen to pass out, then allowed the boy to strike the floor and suffer an injury.
Criminal damaging: Someone tried to enter and damaged a vending machine at Cartronics, 3515 Belmont Ave. Damage was estimated at $300.
GIRARD
April 6
Attempted burglary: Police got a report that two males tried to break into a vacant residence in the 400 block of East Liberty Street before they fled.
Drugs: A Girard man, 18, was charged with drug abuse and disorderly conduct after officers checked an area regarding two suspicious men. The man, who refused to cooperate with police, had a small bag of suspected marijuana and a suspected marijuana pipe, authorities said.
April 7
Fraud: A Mohawk Drive woman discovered the lease on a vehicle she bought had been altered.
April 8
Arrest: A Girard man appearing in Girard Municipal Court on a drug charge also had a warrant for his arrest.
Theft: A North Main Street man discovered a handgun missing from a dresser drawer.
