A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman:
POLAND
April 1
Drugs: A traffic stop in the 6500 block of Clingan Road led to a 16-year-old Youngstown boy’s being cited on a drug-abuse charge. Just over 3 grams of suspected marijuana was found, police said.
Drugs: Police were called to Poland Seminary High School, 3199 Dobbins Road, in reference to a drug investigation, which resulted in the arrest of a 15-year-old township boy. He was charged with possession of drugs.
Bad check: A Poland woman, 31, surrendered and was charged with passing bad checks after two such checks totaling $120 had been presented at Giant Eagle, 3130 Center Road.
April 2
Drugs: A traffic stop near U.S. Route 224 resulted in the arrest of a 40-year-old Cleveland Heights man when, authorities said, 25.6 grams of suspected marijuana was in a bag. He faced charges of possession of marijuana and driving under suspension.
BOARDMAN
April 2
Drugs: Officers cited a Kensington man, 46, during a traffic stop in the 4200 block of Market Street. Two bags of suspected marijuana and papers to roll the drug were found, a report said.
Theft: A Boardman man at the Southern Park Mall reported the theft of his jacket containing various prescription medications.
Theft: A Youngstown man, 21, was pulled over and charged, accused of stealing a $10 heat bulb from Pet Supplies Plus, 411 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A woman reported three firearms and three gold rings stolen from her Mathews Road home.
Theft: A woman in the 200 block of Forest Park Drive discovered 12 solar-powered landscaping lights, 10 sections of fence, a yard globe and a garden hose box missing from her residence.
Theft: A Woodview Avenue woman told police she had been defrauded out of $40.
Theft: A woman at a Doral Drive store saw that two checks and her driver’s license had been removed from her purse.
Aggravated menacing: A Campbell man looking for a Mathews Road address at which to deliver a load of cement reported a driver exited his vehicle and threatened to harm the accuser.
Auto theft: A 38-year-old Indianola Road man was charged with receiving stolen property after police responded to the home regarding a stolen 2002 Ford Explorer.
Theft: Two people took $81.20 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft by deception: A Ronjoy Place man told officers he made two money transfers totaling $750 for hotel arrangements that he never received.
April 3
Theft: A Hubbard woman discovered unauthorized withdrawals totaling $325 had been made when she went to her Market Street bank.
Assault: Southern Park Mall security personnel broke up a fight between two girls. Neither was injured.
Theft: A woman stole a $5 trash can and miscellaneous clothing from Family Dollar, 4026 Market St.
Menacing: Two girls reported having been threatened with bodily harm while at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A Pearson Circle woman was one of four people to report having paid half the cost as a down payment for the replacement of two patios, and that the work was never done.
Theft: A man reported two former tenants stole a bedroom set, two end tables, three lamps and a freezer from rental property he owns in the 300 block of Afton Avenue.
Domestic violence: A 14-year-old Mathews Road boy was charged, accused of holding his mother down during an argument and biting her right shoulder as she tried to escape.
Domestic violence: A girl, 13, was arrested at her Parkside Drive home after her mother alleged the teen assaulted her as they argued.
Arrest: A 20-year-old Youngstown man faced charges of criminal simulation, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and failing to disclose personal information after authorities got a report of someone trying to pass a fake $20 bill at a Speedway gas station, 649 E. Midlothian Blvd. The man fled from police on foot and they had to use a Taser, a report showed.
Domestic violence: A Youngstown man, 38, was charged after a Risher Road woman alleged her husband threatened to shove her head under water and kill her during an argument about their tax refunds.
April 4
Felonious assault: Charges against a woman and two men, no information given, included assault and felonious assault after police answered a call about a fight with baseball bats at a Baymar Drive residence. A disabled woman alleged her husband struck her in the right knee with a bat, and that another woman threw the accuser from her wheelchair to the floor.
Theft: A Squirrel Hill Drive woman reported eight pieces of jewelry totaling more than $2,000 missing from her home.
Theft: A Stanton Avenue man discovered a phony PayPal account regarding two TV screens he had advertised.
Auto theft: A 2007 Chevrolet Corvette was missing from Stadium Lincoln Mercury Mazda Inc., 7830 Market St.
Theft of services: A man reported someone had illegally dumped trash near a business in the 300 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered Jim’s Brushless Car Wash, 238 Boardman-Canfield Road, via a garage door and removed 15 bank checks.
Criminal damaging: A Bonnie Place man discovered two side-view mirrors damaged on his car.
Identity theft: A Westchester Drive man learned that three credit-card accounts had been opened in his name, resulting in about $15,000 worth of bills.
April 5
Recovered property: A Shields Road man found his 1996 Oldsmobile Delta 88 vehicle after having reported it stolen.
Criminal damaging: A Griswold Drive woman reported a baseball was used to damage the front windshield to her mother’s vehicle.
Theft: A Ron Park Place man reported the theft of two fishing poles and reels, a cell phone and $21 from his car.
Theft: Two compact discs were taken from a vehicle on Carter Circle.
Theft: A Youngstown man, 41, was charged in the theft of $84 worth of clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. He also was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments.
Criminal damaging: An Oakridge Avenue man reported paint damage to his vehicle.
Criminal damaging: A Bristlewood Drive man discovered $200 worth of damage to his mailbox and its pole.
Theft: A man reported a set of keys stolen from a locker, as well as other property missing from his car, while at a McClurg Road business.
Theft: A $125 mountain bike was removed from a Shadyside Drive residence.
