2 sex offenders arrested, charged with violations of Megan’s Law

STAFF REPORT

Police are reporting the arrests of two sex offenders who did not report changes of address.

In Lawrence County, Todd Alan Vocature, 48, failed to register his new address or tell state police that he had quit his place of employment in Wampum, police said.

Vocature was required to register with state police under Megan’s Law after convictions in 1998 for statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault.

His last known address was on Raymond Street in New Castle, state police said.

Police said they found him living at a Wallace Avenue address, however.

He was arrested and arraigned Monday and sent to the Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond, police said.

In Mercer County, Eric Lee Womer, 28, was arrested and expected to be arraigned Tuesday after he was accused of failing to register as a sex offender, said Sharon Police Chief Michael Menster.

Menster said Womer moved from Sharon in either August or September 2008 to a Wall Street, Greenville, address.

The Pennsylvania Megan’s Law Web site indicates Womer was convicted in another state in June 2001 for indecent acts and liberties with a child.
