WARREN — Police Chief John Mandopoulos and his attorney, Danny Thomas of Warren, will meet with city officials Wednesday morning in City Hall to reach a final resolution on the chief’s discipline.

Thomas said neither he nor Mandopoulos would be available to discuss the matter before Wednesday. Mandopoulos has not been at work since Thursday. He was not available for comment today.

“[The discipline] will be resolved tomorrow,” Thomas said, adding that he is “going over everything” that will be needed for Wednesday’s meeting since he only recently became involved in the matter.

Doug Franklin, Warren safety-service director, charged Mandopoulos administratively for his conduct regarding Gary Cicero, city’s personnel director, in November.

Cicero said Mandopoulos maliciously had him searched as he entered the police station for a meeting and prevented him from getting to his meeting.
