Talent show scheduled for Thursday at YWCA

WARREN — The Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention and the Warren YWCA are sponsoring “Trumbull County’s Got Talent,” a local teen talent show being held from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the YWCA, 375 N. Park Ave.
The show will feature a performance by YouTube sensation Judson Laipply performing the “Evolution of Dance.”
Local teens performing in the event include Alana Carkido, Dominic DiTommaso, Jason Ensor, Hilary Hapgood, Kevin Kirksey, Corrin Lawrence, Taylor Lott, Aaron Macklin, Darren McArthur, Lizzy McFall, Davius Owens, Mystina Shields, Jenna Smith and Casey Standohar.
The finalists were chosen by a panel of judges March 22. The winner of the talent show will receive $300. The second-prize winner will receive $150. Third prize is $50. The audience will select the winners.
This event is part of the “Parents Who Host, Lose the Most: Don’t be a party to teenage drinking” campaign being sponsored by ASAP.
The campaign educates parents about the risks associated with underage substance abuse. ASAP is a community coalition with a simple mission to prevent substance abuse among youth, and create and promote a healthy lifestyle.
