CANFIELD

March 28

Drug abuse/paraphernalia: Police arrested a 31-year-old Youngstown man on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse at North Broad Street after they found a suspected marijuana cigarette and a bag of the suspected drug in his possession. His wife, 33, also of Youngstown, was also arrested on a charge of wrongful entrustment. She allowed him to drive the vehicle while his license was under suspension. The man told police he was driving because his wife was intoxicated.

Identity theft: A woman from a residence in the 300 block of South Broad Street told police that about $5,200 in cash had been withdrawn from her bank account with a debit card and an unauthorized cash advance of about $1,500 had been made on her credit card.

March 29

Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested a 40-year-old Columbiana man at Columbiana-Canfield Road and charged him with possession of a metal and blue pipe they suspect was used to smoke marijuana.

Drug abuse: Police arrested a 26-year-old Warren man in the city and charged him with possession of a small plastic bag of suspected marijuana and remnants of a suspected marijuana cigarette.

March 30

Theft: An employee at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., reported being shortchanged by $200 in cash by a customer.

Drug abuse: Police charged a 22-year-old Canfield man with drug abuse and possession of dangerous drugs. He was arrested near the cemetery. Police found muscle relaxants and other drugs in his possession.

AUSTINTOWN

March 30

Criminal damaging: A mailbox was damaged at a home in the 5000 block of Nashua Drive.

Theft: A television and a wheelchair were stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Burglary: A bicycle was taken from a vacant house in the 1000 block of Woodland Trace Street.

Theft: A GPS system was stolen from a vehicle at Creative Corner, 3649 Canfield Road.

Drug paraphernalia: A woman turned in a syringe she found in a sweat shirt that had been worn by a family member living with her in the 5000 block of Callaway Circle.

Theft: A Nintendo DS system and games were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of County Line Road.

March 31

Aggravated menacing: An Austintown schools bus driver reported being threatened by a female student who rides the bus who threatened to shoot her in the North Wickliffe area. The driver had written up the student for kissing her boyfriend on the bus.

Forgery: A personal check was forged at Farmers National Bank, 22 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A customer’s mountain bike was stolen from the front of Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., while he was inside the store shopping.

Counterfeit currency: $50 and $20 bills were reportedly passed at Wal-Mart.

Drug offense: The principal at Austintown Middle School reported that a 14-year-old female student was bringing a prescription medication to school and giving it to other students. Four female students confirmed they were either given or paid 50 cents per pill for the medicine. The case has been turned over to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.

Lost or stolen: A wallet was reported lost or stolen at Sheetz Gas Station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Chipper’s Lounge, 5 N. Edgehill Ave.

Theft: Medication was taken at an apartment in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.

Theft: A credit card was reported stolen at Home Depot, 6100 Mahoning Ave.

April 1

Theft: A 2004 Ford van was rented and never returned from Ryder Logistics and Transportation, 650 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: A business partner was reportedly stealing money at Southwind Trucking, 5437 Mahoning Ave.

Menacing: Five juveniles who are classmates of a girl at Austintown Middle School threatened her and chased her through Compass West apartments and threatened to assault her in the 900 block of Compass West.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made by a neighbor to a man at a home in the 2000 block of South Canfield-Niles Road after he filed a complaint with police about disruptions coming from the neighbor’s house.

Theft: A compact disc/radio player was taken from the dashboard of a vehicle at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Criminal trespass: A fenced-in pen was entered at a home in the 2000 block of Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A woman was arrested for theft at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave., and released on a summons.

Theft: A woman was arrested for theft of makeup and clothing at Kmart and released on a summons.

Theft: A woman was arrested for stealing artificial fingernails worth $17.97 at Kmart.

Assault: A 13-year-old female was assaulted by another female at the 13-year-old’s home in the 2000 block of Idlewood Road.

Recovered property: Numerous credit cards were on the ground at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was covered with paint at a home in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road.

April 2

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a township man a summons for disorderly conduct at Maple and Westminster avenues.

Breaking and entering: An ex-boyfriend is a suspect in a break-in at a home in the 3000 block of Crum Road.

Recovered property: A black purse and its contents were recovered at North Meridian and Lanterman roads.

Telecommunications harassment: A male reported receiving unwanted personal phone calls at his place of work, LynnKirk Christian School, 4199 Kirk Road.

Drug offense: A Mineral Ridge man was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a brown pipe with suspected marijuana in it in the vehicle ashtray during a traffic stop at state Route 46 and Lou-Ida Boulevard.

Telecommunications harassment: A man reported he was receiving phone calls from a woman that he is currently not allowed to speak to as a condition of a bond for domestic violence at a home in the 2000 block of Birchtrace Drive.

Criminal damaging: Damage was reported to a vehicle headlight on Mahoning Avenue.

April 3

Theft: A man stole $40 at Plaza Book & Smoke Shop, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: Harassment by a man was reported at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Theft: Appliances were stolen by renters at a home in the 3000 block of Allendale Avenue.

Menacing: A man is accused of menacing at a home in the 1000 block of Howard Avenue.

Theft: Police arrested a Columbiana man and an East Palestine woman arrested for theft of DVDs at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave. The woman, who had to be chased down in the store, was charged with complicity to theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse-heroin.

April 4

Burglary: A burglary took place at a home in the 1000 block of South Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal damaging: A satellite dish was bent in the rear yard of a home in the 6000 block of Callaway Circle.

Attempted aggravated burglary: Screens were cut and windows broken at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to two Warren men for possession of marijuana at The Wedge, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

April 5

Criminal damaging: A 3-pound weight was thrown through a car window in the 1000 block of Idlewood Road.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to a Warren man for possession of marijuana at Wedgewood Plaza, 1739 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Five males — one juvenile and four adults — walked out on a bill at Perkins, 5550 Interstate Boulevard. The four adults are charged with theft, obstructing justice and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 1000 block of North Main Street.

Criminal damaging: Three vehicles were damaged at a home in the 60 block of South Main Street.
