Easter Seals walk event is May 2 at Boardman Park

BOARDMAN — Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties plans its fifth annual Walk With Me event and fundraiser May 2 at Boardman Park’s Elton Beard Cabin.

The 1 mile, 3K and 5K fitness walk and/or run is expected to bring hundreds of area participants together to raise funds for Easter Seals services and increase awareness of issues affecting individuals with disabilities in our community.

The event begins at 9 a.m.

Registration for this year’s Walk With Me is available at www.walkwithme.org or by calling (330) 743-1168. Every individual and team participant will be paired with an Easter Seals honorary ambassador — a child or adult with a disability directly benefiting from Easter Seals programs and services — and have an opportunity to meet in advance of the event, learn about his or her personal story, and cross finish line together.

Participants may enjoy Walk With Me activities for all ages including a walk through Boardman Park, fellowship with other Walk With Me teams, face painting, pony rides and other family fun.

Every year, Easter Seals provides services to more than 5,000 children and adults with disabilities and special needs. Money raised through Walk With Me will support programs and services that make a difference for people with disabilities.
