Villella team members prepare for MS walk at Canfield Fairgrounds

CANFIELD — On April 25 the Mahoning Valley Walk MS event at Canfield Fairgrounds will raise awareness about multiple sclerosis and raise funds to help people with MS, and to support research to find a cure for the disease.

Among the walkers will be Samantha Villella of Boardman; her sister, Nikki; her brother, Brent; her dad, Ed; and 64 friends who will walk in support of her mother, Cathy Villella, a teacher at St. Joseph Elementary School in Austintown, who has been diagnosed with MS.

One of her students now lives in Las Vegas and walked on her behalf on April 4 at the Las Vegas Walk MS event.

The Villella team has already raised $2,600 toward its goal of $3,000.

Walkers willl have an option of completing a two-mile or four-mile route at the fairgrounds, and can collect pledges and walk as individuals or part of a team.
