Senior Independence Senior Center activities

Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, Men’s and Women’s Needlecraft Club at 8:30 a.m., income taxes at 9 a.m., yoga classes at 10, and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting and Alzheimer Support Group at 10, computer class at 10 and noon, digital club at 2, and Caregiver Support Program at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10, Bereavement Support Group at 11, computer at 10 and noon, tai chi at noon, and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Watch Our Weight and Woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Diabetic Workshop at 10, exercise at noon, line dancing at 1 p.m., and beginner line dancing at 2; and Friday, income taxes at 9 and Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m.

Special events include: Open house at the center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Local artists will be premiering their works at an annual Art Show open to the public from noon to 3:30 p.m. daily Thursday through April 13. The center will be closed Friday.
