WASHINGTON, Pa. — Heather Amistade of Washington, Pa., and Nicholas Hovanic of Mars, Pa., were united in marriage by the Rev. Kevin Poecking in a 4 p.m. ceremony Nov. 28 at Immaculate Conception Church.

A reception followed at the Holiday Inn Meadowlands.

The bride, a daughter of David and Lisa Amistade of Washington, wore an ivory gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and embellished with crystals and pearls.

Ashley Amistade was maid of honor for her sister and wore a chocolate gown with teal accents, as did the bridesmaids: Shawna Guatteri, Nicole Smedley, Jodi Dugan, Alexandra Maxwell, Abbie Olsen and Shannon Morrisey, and junior bridesmaids, Jillian Couts, Kaitlin Sonson and Kylee Sonson. Mia D’oro was the flower girl.

Best man for the groom, who is the son of Kenneth and Catherine Hovanic of Salem, was Ryan Drake. Groomsmen were Shawn Amistade, Sean Addie, Mike Miles, Sean Kennedy, Mike Lukach, Frank Amato, and Andrew Dodgson. Christopher D’oro was junior groomsman. C.J. Sonson and Ethan Richardson served as ring bearers.

Mrs. Hovanic graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree. She is a medical device sales representative for Roche Diagnostics in Pittsburgh.

Mr. Hovanic earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington & Jefferson and a master’s in information security and assurance from Robert Morris University. He is an information security analyst for UPMC Corporate Services in Pittsburgh.
