jThe Disgruntled Clown was once a happy-go-lucky chap. The class clown in high school, he moved on to doing stand-up, and all was fine and dandy. But somewhere along the line, he became ... what’s the word for it? ... disillusioned? dissatisfied? Well, whatever. Things change. Now, bedecked in face paint and garish garb, he looks like a cross between Gene Simmons and Sting the wrestler. You tend to notice him when he enters the room. Which he will do Thursday through Saturday at the Funny Farm Comedy Club, 5583 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday. Call (330) 652-4242.

This weekend represents your last chance to see “Driving Miss Daisy” at the Oakland Center for the Arts. The prize-winning drama starring Molly Galano will be staged at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the downtown theater, 220 W. Boardman St. Call (330) 746-0404.

Stage Left Players’ production of “Bus Stop,” the story of a group of weary, and love-starved travelers forced to make an extended pit stop at a diner when their bus runs into a snowstorm, will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The production is at Trinity Playhouse, 234 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon. Call (330) 424-5093.

Last summer, rumor had it that the big outdoor amphitheaters were going the way of the dinosaur. This summer, complete opposite. ThunderRider is holding a CD release party for its self-titled debut album Saturday night at Barley’s, 21 W. Federal St. in downtown Youngstown. There will be no cover charge and everyone who shows up will get a free copy of the album. “We’d rather have 1,000 people have our CD and not pay anything than have 50 people pay $10,” explained the band’s bassist, Ken Zitello, in a published report. Sounds reasonable.

The legendary Packard Concert Band offers another free performance. “Broadway Show Stoppers” begins at 3 p.m. in the hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave., Warren.

Tickets are on sale for Willie Nelson and Family. The legendary country singer comes to Chevrolet Centre on May 15 for an 8 p.m. show. Tickets are $37.50 and $47.50 and are available through Ticketmaster and the arena box office.k
