Cruiser in collision

BOARDMAN — A Boardman police officer was in an accident while en route to a reported armed robbery on Boardman-Poland Road around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The cruiser was struck by another vehicle near the Southern Park Mall at Market Street and U.S. Route 224. The officer was responding to a call from Purpose Money at 66 Boardman-Poland. No serious injuries were reported, and the department is still investigating the accident and the robbery.
