BOARDMAN

March 27

Burglary: Someone forced open a rear door to a Southern Boulevard residence, then stole two flat-screen TVs, a computer tower and a DVD player.

Theft: A flash drive device from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A 31-year-old township man was charged in the theft of seven items valued at a total of $203 from Wal-Mart.

Theft: A $75 pair of tennis shoes was stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall, resulting in a 50-year-old Youngstown man’s being charged. He also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Arrest: Officers booked a Boardman man, 19, on charges of disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and telephone harassment, both misdemeanors. The teen admitted having sent a township girl obscene and offensive text messages, a report showed.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 6500 block of South Avenue had a large crack in its front windshield, resulting in $250 worth of damage.

Theft: A man in his 20s stole a pair of jeans, an Ohio State University jersey and five purses from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. The loss came to $590.

Theft: A $40 computer piece from Wal-Mart.

Assault: A Boardman boy suffered a split lip as well as swelling to both eyes and the left side of his head after a fight at a McClurg Road business.

Theft: A woman’s $900 phone was stolen while she was at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave.

March 28

Arrest: A Youngstown woman, 27, faced two counts of obstructing official business as police investigated a fight at a Mathews Road residence. The woman walked away from authorities during their inquiry, then yelled obscenities at officers, a report said.

Assault: Two woman reported having been assaulted in the 400 block of Mathews Road. One was struck, the other choked.

Theft: A $170 cell phone from a customer a Boardman-Poland Road fast-food restaurant.

Theft: A Romaine Avenue woman told authorities she ordered a $55 item online, but that the product had not arrived within the agreed-upon time.

Criminal damaging: A Brainard Drive man had $500 worth of lawn damage after someone had driven through.

Criminal damaging: A woman found that an ornament had been torn from her vehicle’s front grill while near U.S. Route 224.

Counterfeit: A woman reported she had been told that a $10 bill she presented at a Boardman-Poland Road fast-food eatery was phony. She was not charged, however.

Damage: A South Schenley Avenue woman saw that a door lock to her apartment had been tampered with.

Domestic violence: A Boardman man, 43, was charged after police responded to a fight at a Market Street business. The man’s wife had redness on her neck, indicating she had been choked, a report showed.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 21, was accused in the theft of 14 items from Wal-Mart.

Theft: Police charged an 18-year-old Youngstown man with taking $33.50 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart.

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 53, was taken into custody after officers received reports that a 90-year-old township woman is an ongoing victim of theft by deception and theft against the elderly. The man was wanted on warrants from the county and was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

March 29

Harassment: A Tara Drive teenager reported getting 17 harassing calls.

Auto theft: Authorities checked a suspicious vehicle near Market Street and Erskine Avenue, where they charged a 35-year-old Hilliard, Ohio, man with receiving stolen property and arrested him on a probation-violation charge. The 1999 Chrysler had been stolen from an elderly Columbiana woman, a report said.

Robbery: Police spoke to a Niles man being treated for a severe head injury at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. The man and a friend said he had been robbed of $300 at a Willow Drive residence.

March 30

Drugs: A 19-year-old township woman was pulled over near Market Street and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

POLAND

March 26

Identity theft: A Center Road man reported a situation with his debit card.

Arrest: A 40-year-old man was taken into custody at his Country Lane residence on a warrant from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio charging him with violating his probation.

March 27

Recovered property: Officers found a stolen newspaper box near a wooded area off Quarry Road.

March 28

Arrest: A traffic stop near Dobbins Road led to a 28-year-old East Palestine man’s being charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments. He also was charged with a probation violation and driving under suspension.

Theft: A Kennedy Road man reported the theft of an $800, 8-horsepower wood chipper.
