Teresa Marie Oakes of Cortland and John Ryan Bacher of Warren are announcing their engagement and plans for their upcoming marriage.

Invitations will be issued for their 1 p.m. June 27 wedding at Central Christian Church in Warren, and for their evening reception at Mr. Anthony’s at the Maronite Center, Youngstown.

The bride-elect, a daughter of Tina-Marie Oakes and Grant Oakes III, both of Cortland, is a kindergarten teacher with Howland Local Schools. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in education and is pursuing a master’s in reading specialization at Kent State University.

John and Debra Bacher of Champion are parents of the future groom. He graduated from Kent State University with a degree in mechanical engineering and is a mechanical engineer with Peerless-Winsmith Inc. in Warren.
