Shenango River Reservoir opens Friday

HERMITAGE, Pa. — The Mahaney, Clark and Shenango Day Use areas at the Shenango River Reservoir will open for the 2009 season Friday. Boat launching fees will not be charged until May 8.

Pavilions may be rented for $40. Call the park office for more information.

The Shenango Campground will open for the season May 8. Reservations for selected campsites can be made by calling 1 (877) 444-6777, or on the Internet by going to the Web site www.recreation.gov. Campers should be prepared to pay for their entire stay when making a reservation. Visa, American Express, MasterCard, and Discover cards are accepted. Reservations for locations operated by the forest service can also be made by calling the same number.

The Bayview Off-Road Vehicle Area will open May 22.
