YOUNGSTOWN — U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, said two federal courts in Youngstown have received $1.73 million in federal funds for improvements.

Youngstown’s Thomas D. Lambros Federal Office Building received $1,182,000 while the Nathaniel R. Jones Federal Building received $601,000 in funding.

The funds are part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed by Congress earlier this year and will be used to expand on high-performance green building limited scope projects.

“These grants will immediately help put people to work while at the same time, making our court buildings more energy efficient,” said Ryan.
