September 30, 1958: Col. Dale S. Sweat, commander of the 79th Fighter Group at the Youngstown Municipal Airport, gives Dr. Howard Jones, president of Youngstown University, a half-hour flight over the area in a T33 jet trainer. Dr. Jones said he has flown in many different aircraft, but had long wanted to fly in a jet fighter.
