• YOUNGSTOWN — Lora Wiery and Jim Potashnik, both of 3468 Wyoga Lake Road, No. 305, Cuyahoga Falls, married in a 3:30 p.m. ceremony Aug. 9 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The daughter of Gary and Gerri Wiery, 7475 Elmland Drive, Poland; and the son of Stephen and Jackie Potashnik, of 300 Chatham Court, Warren, received congratulations afterward at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia.

The bride, a teacher for Bedford City Schools in Bedford, Ohio, graduated from Ohio State University in Columbus with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in education.

The groom is employed as a patent engineer for Eschweiler and Associates LLC in Cleveland. He earned a bachelor’s degree at John Carroll University in Cleveland, a master’s in science from Ohio State, and a master’s in engineering from Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind. He attends Akron Law School.

The bride’s strapless ivory A-line gown featured an asymmetrical overlay embellished with Swarovski crystals and pearls.

Tracey Wiery served as honor attendant, and bridesmaids were Sara Hobzek, Carole Canfield, Laurie Dieter,. Kristy Gentile. Nicole Milnor. Wendy Potashnik, and Audrey Richardson. They wore chocolate-brown dresses.

Dave and Steve Potashnik served as best men, and John Fowler, Chris Hlas, Neil Kapadia, Shawn Walsh, and Bryan and Jeff Wiery were groomsmen. Luke Wiery was the ring bearer.
