Hubbard rolls in tuneup for Salem

HUBBARD — Jackie Carlisle had 14 kills, five blocks, Marcy Angelo had 31 assists, 12 points and two aces and Dawn Lingenfelter added 21 digs as Hubbard (15-0) defeated Howland, 25-23, 25-15, 25-22, Monday in a high school volleyball match.

Hubbard plays at Salem on Wednesday in a matchup of state-ranked teams.

Kelly Barzak had 10 kills, four blocks and nine points for Howland, while Jessica Mason had 19 assists and Morgan Alden had four digs. JVs: Hubbard, 25-6, 25-6.

Poland 16-26-25-26, Warren JFK 25-24-18-9

POLAND — Alexis Hurtz finished with 19 points, 16 digs, three aces and six kills to lead Poland (9-7).

Amanda Molaskey had 31 assists, seven digs, three aces, three kills and 12 points and Brittany Gamble had 14 digs, nine points and two aces.

Morgan Piacquadio had nine points, 13 assists and 21 digs for JFK (12-4), while Bethany Woodley added eight kills. JVs: Poland, 25-19, 25-7

Canfield 26-25-25, Crestview 24-16-9

CANFIELD — Canfield (13-6) got a 25-point effort from Abby Malsch, who also added six kills, five digs and nine assists. Megg Andrews had 11 kills and six blocks while Kalie Luklan had six kills, two blocks and four points.

Crestview (6-9) was led by Chelsea Bowker with seven points, nine kills, three blocks and 10 digs. JVs: Canfield 25-15, 25-19.

Warren Harding 25-25-25, Youngstown Christian 18-20-15

WARREN — Laura-Ashley Howard scored seven points with three aces, three kills, three blocks and two digs for the Raiders (5-10). Creelynn Provitt, who had 24 assists and Elizabeth Hall each scored 17 points.

Sara Bell led Youngstown Christian with four aces and three kills.

Liberty 25-26-25, Lakeview 21-24-16

LIBERTY — Ashley Venable scored six points and she had 20 kills, 13 digs and two blocks for the Leopards. Chakieyla Merriweather had 11 points and 10 digs.

Abbey Bensing led the Bulldogs with eight kills and 11 digs. Chelsea Kelligher had 14 points, three aces and five digs. JVs Lakeview 25-23, 25-11.

Columbiana 25-25-25, Leetonia 14-10-18

LEETONIA — Heidi Moff scored 13 points and she had five blocks for the Clippers (11-4, 6-4). Kaylee Couchenour had 12 digs, Gina Sjavely 22 assists and Kristi Couchenour had 11 kills.

Emma Merrill led the Bears (7-10, 5-3) with 10 blocks and nine kills. Staci Medved had 14 digs, Sam Glasser 13 assists and Lauren Ketterman eight points. JVs: Columbiana 25-12, 25-15.

Lordstown 25-25-25, Ledgemont 13-4-19

LORDSTOWN — Jessica Reinke scored 28 points, with three aces, seven digs and a kill for the Red Devils (16-2, 12-0), who lead the Northeast Athletic Conference. Brianna Blodgett had nine points, five digs, 12 kills and a block. Karly Gibbs had six points and 19 assists. Sara Ziegler led Ledgemont with 13 digs. JVs: Lordstown 25-20, 25-10.
